I've never been a fan of live cds or live dvds but of late I've been watching a few DVDs. In the last few days I've watched My Chemical Romances 'the black parade is dead' (got me heaps siked on the band again!), the new underOATH dvd and Fall Out Boys 'Live in Phoenix'. All amazing bands and amazing live shows but after watching the FOB DVD it got me thinking about a previous blog about bands thinking they're bigger than they actually are.
In FOB's case, it isn't the band... I'm talking about Mr. Peter Wentz.
anyone who has seen this dvd who notice how all the focus is on wentz, hes the only one whos allowed to speak between songs (don't know if this is the case at all of their shows as I haven't seen them) and most of the time on the big screen its images of him, no one else in the band.
how do the other guys put up with this sort of crap? or they happy getting rich off selling the image of him?
I don't know how much input he has to writing material for the band but I doubt he has much, although it's clear he has written the lyrics to the songs like 'thanks for the memories' and 'sugar, we're going down'. if you listen to the words, he is clearly speaking about his bisexually.
this clown has to realise he is not bigger than his band, and his band mates or they're management or even label need to put a stop to all this before it ends up 'Pete and the Fall Out Boys' or worse he does a solo project.
